Harold Buttars

Harold James Buttars passed away May 15, 2015, at the age of 85, at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Harold was born February 2, 1930, to James LeRoy Buttars and Myrtle V. Carter Buttars. Harold was the oldest son born into a family of nine children. Harold was raised in the same home in which he was born in Ammon, Idaho. He had lived in Ammon and Shelley, Idaho. Harold farmed as a young man and worked for various farmers. He also worked for Roger Brothers, Basic American Foods, and JMJ Elevators in Ammon. Harold married Dorothy Joan Beal on November 8, 1950. Six children were born to this union. They later divorced. He married Phyllis Ivie on January 1, 1991. They later divorced. Harold is survived by his children: Kathy McBride of Idaho Falls, ID; Lorna Buttars (Larry Grange) of Idaho Falls, ID; Carol (Dean) Fullmer of Menan, ID; Marcie Buttars-Tarbet of Edmonds, WA; Kenneth (Shelly) Buttars of Shelley, ID; Mark Buttars of Ammon, ID; brother, Richard Buttars of Emmett, ID; 14 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren. Harold is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Donnetta, Helen, Jean, and Beverly; and brothers, Jerald, Lavon, and Dale. Thank you to Turtle and Crane Assisted Living Center and their wonderful staff for the care and support of Dad while he was in their care. As per Dad’s request, no funeral will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
