Harold "Andy" Andrews

Harold Leon “Andy” Andrews, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 16, 2011, at his home. He was born August 14, 1930, in Pampa, Texas, to Jack Prince Andrews and Lola Hatton Spaulding. He grew up in Texas, attended Dumas Elementary, and graduated from Morse High School. He continued his education by attending Texas Tech and later Idaho State University. He served in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Pennsylvania and Georgia, during the Korean War. He worked for Phillips Petroleum and, at the age of 27, was transferred to Idaho, where he remained until his death. On May 5, 1961, he married Janice Fransen in Ashton, Idaho. He worked at the INEL as the Supervisor of Planning and Scheduling until he retired. Andy enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool, but golf was his passion. Survivors include: Wife: Janice Andrews, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Mickey (Sway) Andrews, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Leslie (Todd) Pierce, Shelley, ID Sister: Bobbie Jean Doak, Tulsa, OK 5 grandchildren: Colton, Tanner, Holden (Pierce), Jayda, Dillon (Andrews) He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Regland and Verland; and two2 sisters, Betty and Lois. A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, Idaho Falls. A dedication of the grave will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Pineview Cemetery in Ashton, Idaho. Military Rites will be performed by the Ashton American Legion Post 89 and the Idaho Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Idaho Falls Junior Golf Association, 701 E. Elva, Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
