Harland Vaughn Stosich, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 30, 2016, at his home with his loving family in attendance. He was under the care of Alliance Hospice.

Harland was born May 30, 1936, in Idaho Falls, to Esther Smith Stosich and Vaughn Thomas Stosich. He is the oldest of eleven children. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1954. He also attended Ricks College in Rexburg. Harland served in the United States Army as a radio specialist from December 1960 until November 1962, as well as four years with the Reserves.

On June 7, 1963, Harland married Donna Mary Holladay in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They are the parents of seven children. He worked at Holladay Office Supply, Main Office Supply in Boise, Idaho, Newport News at the INL site, and UNC Geotech in Grand Junction, Colorado.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various positions including Bishoprics and Stake High Council. Harland climbed both the Matterhorn in Switzerland and the Grand Teton. He played the violin in several symphonies, directed beautiful choirs, and performed in various theatrical productions. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking and received his pilot’s license.

Harland is survived by his loving wife, Donna Stosich of Idaho Falls; daughter, Kristy (Allen) Lainhart of Springville UT; daughter, Regina (Les) Pearce of Bountiful UT; daughter, Tawnya Stosich of Idaho Falls; daughter, Julie (Stephen) Jensen of Plover WI; son, Harland V. (Richelle) Stosich Jr. of West Jordan UT; daughter, Maria (Melvin) Rushing of Las Vegas NV;son, Robert Stosich of Salt Lake City UT; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, DavidJohn, Thomas, Patrese Burke, Howard, Sam, Eugene, Ruth Woolstenhulme, Myra Moses, Kim and Gary.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank Alliance Hospice for the excellent care they gave Harland.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at the Skyline LDS Ward Chapel, 2345 West 17th South, with Bishop Brett Webb officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Friday one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
