Harding Z. Gibbs - 02/03/2003 Harding Z. Gibbs - 02/03/2003 HARDING Z. GIBBS BOUNTIFUL, UT -- Harding Zundel Gibbs, 96, formerly of Shelley, died February 3, 2003, at Bountiful House in Bountiful, Utah. He was born June 23, 1906, at Portage, Utah, to William Henry Gibbs, Jr. and Elizabeth Sarah Zundel Gibbs. The family moved to McCammon where the family ran a dry farm. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating as Salutatorian of his high school class. He attended BYU and Idaho State University and received his Bachelor’s Degree. He married Lenna Christensen on June 14, 1935 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He taught school for 37 years in the Rose, Basalt, Goshen, and Firth areas. When he retired, a school, Harding Gibbs Middle School, was named after him. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in two bishoprics, in the Sunday School Superintendency and as a Sunday School Teacher. Just prior to World War II, he served a full-time mission to Germany-Austria. For several years he served as a temple worker and served in the name extraction program for over 12 years. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. and for one hour prior to the services at the church.
