H. Poll Oakey - 12/16/2001 H. Poll Oakey - 12/16/2001 H. POLL OAKEY IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Hyrum Poll “Poll” Oakey, 72, of Idaho Falls, died December 14, 2001, at his home from a heart attack. He was born August 4, 1929 to Alfred Dayton Oakey and Ada Poll Oakey in Dingle, Idaho. He attended Dingle Public Schools, and Rogers High School in Spokane, Washington. He played football for and graduated from Idaho State University in Pocatello with his Masters Degree in Education. He served in the U. S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Ilean Durtschi September 15, 1948 in Pocatello, Idaho. He worked for 30 years as a Clinical Psychologist for the Idaho State Department of Mental Health and for Idaho Job Service. He was a member of the Russet Lion's Club and also enjoyed bowling, fishing and football and especially his two grandchildren, Jacob and Russell Ware. Surviving are:Wife: Mary Ilean Oakey, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Mary Ann (David T.) Ware, Blackfoot, IDDaughter: Paula Jo Oakey, Salt Lake City, UTSister: Jean Oakey Alleman, Dingle, IDSister: Marjorie Oakey Jones, Mesa, AZ 2 Grandchildren At Poll’s request, no service will be held.
