GWYN CALL
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Gwyn Call, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed
away October 12, 2003, at his home of cancer. He was under the care of Aspen
Hospice.
He was born May 27, 1923, in Pocatello, Idaho, one of nine
children born to Rosco Cyril Call and Hazel Hill Call. He graduated from
Pocatello High School, where he played football when the school won the
1941 State Championship. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II,
where his ship escorted troops and supplies.
In 1947 he married Juanita Jones Gardner and helped raise
her son, Jack, now of Las Vegas, Nevada, and they were later divorced. In
1967 he married Lula Wilkins Sargent. They lived for a short time in Ucon,
then moved to their current home in Idaho Falls in 1968. He has worked in
various fields, but was best known as a butcher.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, he served in various callings. He has been active for many years
in the American Legion Forty and Eight. He enjoyed family activities and
playing golf.
He is survived by
his wife, Lula Call, of Idaho Falls, ID

Stepson: Van (LarRene) Sargent, of Idaho Falls, ID
Brother, Cyril [Maude] Call, of Kemmerer, WY;
Sister: Norma [Lee] Bettis, of Pocatello. ID
21 grandchildren, 54 great grand children and one great great grandson.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Newell Sargent; three brothers, Elwin,
Tharrell, and Max Call; and three sisters, Beulah Nichols, Lola Pratt, and
Velma Call.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October
16, 2003, at the Idaho Falls LDS Mountain View Ward, 1450 Mountain View
Lane, with Bishop Kerry Holmgren officiating. The family will visit with
friends Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge)
and for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery are under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, ID. Military
Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
