Guy Jaynes, 93, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 19, 2011 at Idaho Falls Care and Rehabilitation. Guy was born May 26, 1918, in Caney, Kansas, to Guy Jaynes Sr. and Annie L. Aitken Jaynes. He married Opal Lillie Deaton on August 16, 1941 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized on February 15, 1960, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Coltman, Idaho, Grass Valley, California and Fort Bragg, California before moving back to Idaho Falls. Guy worked as a farmer, livestock man, car salesman, and in the fresh pack potato industry. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a High Priest in the Idaho Falls LDS Kearney 3rd Ward. Guy loved raising roses and being with friends. Survivors include: Son: Steven (Vonnie)Jaynes of Iona, Idaho Daughter: Shannon (Jerry) Backlund of Phoenix, Arizona 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild Sister: Annie Banks of Salt Lake City, Utah He was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery with Bishop Don Harris of the Idaho Falls LDS Kearney 3rd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Rd. prior to departing for services at the cemetery.
