Click Here To View Memorial Video Guadalupe Maciel Garcia, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 1, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society–Idaho Falls Village. She was under the care of her family and Solace Hospice. Guadalupe was born May 2, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, to Miguel Maciel and Guadalupe Maciel Soto Maciel. She met her husband, Santiago Garcia, in 1950, and they lived in Billings until 1968, when he went to work for Pacific Container in Idaho Falls. She and Santiago were married July 17, 1981, in Idaho Falls. A wife, mother, and homemaker, Guadalupe also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and in the laundry at Good Samaritan Society - Idaho Falls Village. She retired in 1995. Santiago passed away February 12, 1997. A member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Church, Guadalupe enjoyed cooking and cleaning her home. She especially loved being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Guadalupe is survived by daughter, Victoria (Jose) Perez of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Peter Garcia of Salt Lake City, UT; son, Santiago Garcia, Jr. of WA; son, David Garcia of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Micaela Garcia of Boise, ID; daughters, Rose Powers and Julia Alvarado of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Connie Garcia of Denver, CO; daughter, Eva Maciel, of Brownsville, TX; granddaughters (raised as a daughters), Mileen Duran and Raquel Mora of Idaho Falls, ID; brothers, John (Ida) Maciel, Joe Maciel, Frank (Tisha) Maciel, Sal (Sally) Maciel, & Greg (Connie) Maciel of Billings, MT; brother, Louis Maciel of Salt Lake City, UT, brother, Richard (Rose) Maciel of Denver, CO, brother, Tommy (Rita) Maciel of Chandler, IN, brother, Sammy Maciel of Great Falls, MT, sisters, Julia (Jesse) Mota, Savina (Dave) McKeen, & Mary (Cecilio) Diaz of Billings, MT; sister, Peggy (Al) Mizner of Spokane, WA; sister, Dorothy Maciel of Denver, CO, 28 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Faustino, Marcileno, Bernie, Mike, and Raymond and one sister, Virginia, and two great grandchildren, Vyaney Crystal Lopez and Erik Anthony Mora. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2014, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, and 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to services at the cemetery, both times at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
