Gretel, an incredible wife, a loving mother of six beautiful children, and grandmother to eight wonderful grandchildren, was always living life to the very fullest. Gretel was married to Mark Byers on January 2, 1981, in Logan, Utah. During her lifetime she attended four years of college, served in the U. S. Army during the Gulf War, served the community as an EMT, started and ran four different businesses, and was avidly involved with the local 4-H as a leader and animal lover. Her life of service to her family and to her country brought honor and dignity to our name. With unwavering morals, solid Christian values, and an unwillingness to compromise, she pressed all those around her to be the best and brightest. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she touched. The family requests prayers and thoughts for Gretel’s mother, Margaret, who suffers the greatest loss. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at the Ammon Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, prior to leaving for the cemetery. ---------------------------------------------------- Condolences received online: Ronie Petterborg Dear Mark Sorry to have not been able to make it to Gretel's funeral.
