Gretchen Ruth Fjelstad, 46, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 27, 2011, at her home of natural causes. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

She spent her early years in a rural community near Bellingham, then moved with her family to Wenatchee, Washington, in 1971. In 1981 the family relocated to Ketchikan, Alaska, where they lived until 1988, when they moved to Idaho Falls.

Gretchen worked as a support staff member at Melaleuca and for Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Her last employment was with Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center until she was unable to work because of her illness.
