Gregory Scott Roberts, 58, of Boise, Idaho, passed away January 22, 2018, at his home. He was surrounded by loving friends and family while under the care of Encompass Hospice.
Greg was born December 14, 1959, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Duane Clarence Roberts and Shirley Margaret Ann Permian Roberts. He grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He then went on to attend Boise State University, which became his glory years.
He was a very talented musician and played piano for the Catholic Church. His Catholic faith continued all his life giving him a sense of peace and acceptance knowing that his life would be cut short. Greg battled cancer for 13 years, and after, he was left paralyzed from a stroke he fought his way back to walk again.
Being active was a necessity for Greg and he was an avid golfer, skier, and runner. His will to live was unparalleled by many and his selflessness to put others before himself continued throughout his illness. Friends and family were the most important part in Greg’s life. He loved nothing more than to be drinking a cold beer with his best buds while watching a great game of football.
He is survived by his daughter, Sydney Roberts of Portland, OR; his mother, Shirley Roberts of Idaho Falls; and his sister, Janis Sherick of Idaho Falls. He was preceded in death by his father.
