Gregory Padilla Perez

Gregory Padilla Perez, 90, of Rigby, passed away on January 15, 2020, peacefully at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and Alliance Home Health and Hospice.

Greg was born June 10, 1929, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Cecilio and Rosa Perez. His family moved around quite a bit growing up so he wasn’t able to obtain much of a formal education. Greg was the third oldest out of 16 children. With so many siblings, there were always new stories to tell his children and grandchildren.

He was very passionate about farming, and did so for years before being drafted into the Army during the Korean War. After serving in the War, he returned home to continue that passion. Greg went on to own a dairy farm with some of his brothers. He started working at Idahoan in 1984 to help support his family and his farming hobby. Greg was a strong man who cared greatly about his family and friends. He always thought the best of everyone.

Greg waited until later in life to find his perfect match. He met the love of his life, Angelina Maldonado, at the ripe age of 52. They were married June 6, 1981, in Idaho Falls. They had six children and made their home in Rigby.

Greg was a superhero to all of his kids. He was the strongest 60-year old dad there ever was. Working two jobs and getting very little sleep while still doing everything possible to be active in his children’s lives. He passed along an amazing amount of knowledge and a profound work ethic that they have all carried into adulthood.

You will be missed!

Greg is survived by his loving wife, Angelina Perez; children, Guadalupe Perez, Rita (Rhett) Burke, Asuncion Perez, Gregorio (Hannah) Perez, Rosa Perez, and Cecilio Perez; his grandchildren, Gabriella, Riker, Kayden, Enzo, Greggory, and soon to be, Dawson; as well as many siblings.

Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, followed by a viewing with the family. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 9th & Lee, on Monday, January, 20, 2020, followed by a graveside service at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
