Grant Richards

Grant Thomas Richards, 84, of Ammon, passed away on October 25, 2015, at his home. He was born on April 18, 1931, in Egin, Idaho to Lewis Thomas Richards and Rella Dora Johnson Richards. He grew up and attended schools in the area. Grant served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On October 17, 1950, he married Barbara Jean Eckersley in Idaho Falls. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2014. He worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Grant was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed woodworking and made wishing wells and wind birds. He especially loved his family and spending time with them. He is survived by: Daughter: Laraina Richards (Michael) Landon, Firth, ID Son: Ralph Thomas Richards, Firth, ID Daughter: Bobbet Richards Jensen, Ammon, ID Son: Roy J. (Cindy) Richards, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Rex Grant (Susan) Richards, Iona, ID Daughter-in-law: Coy Richards, Milo, ID Brother: LaFoy (Carol) Richards, Boise, ID Brother: Deon Richards, Seattle, WA 23 Grandchildren, 67 Great Grandchildren, and 9 Great Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; son, Bruce Richards; sister, Twila Morgan; and Arlo Richards and Raphael Richards, brothers. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Friday, October 30, 2015, at the Ammon LDS 10th Ward (4375 E. Sunnyside Rd.) with Bishop Wes Wood officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and on Friday from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park. A luncheon will be provided following the services at the church.

Ammon) and on Friday from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
