Grant Morrell Bowen, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away on April 11, 2012, at his home of natural causes. He was born October 23, 1925, in Rexburg, Idaho to Grant Reese Bowen and Guinevere Lucy Jensen Bowen. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Sugar-Salem High School. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On March 16, 1949, he married Norma Jane Critchfield in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He worked as a animal nutritionist and was still employed at the time of his death. Grant was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a member of The American Legion. His greatest love was his family and spending time with them. He loved his job, his horses and Hershey chocolate bars. Survivors are: Wife: Norma C. Bowen, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Lane M. (Valerie) Bowen, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Pamela (Merrill) Moses, San Diego, CA Daughter: Shawna (David) Farnsworth, Pleasant Grove, UT Brother: Lyle Bowen, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Reed Bowen, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: John Bowen, Rexburg, ID Brother: Dwight Bowen, Salt Lake City, UT Sister: Guinevere Taylor, Rexburg, ID Sister: Norma Pieper, Salt Lake City, UT Sister: Doralee Rydalch, St. Anthony, ID Sister: Suzanne Critchfield, Oakley, ID Sister: Kay Parkinson, Salt Lake City, UT 18 Grandchildren and 40 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Bowen Love. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Parley LDS Ward (2055 Coronado in Idaho Falls) with Bishop Ken Bateman officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Monday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Archer-Sutton Cemetery with military rites performed by the Madison County Veterans of Foreign Wars assisted by the Idaho Honor Guard.
