GRACE PLATTS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Grace Platts, 93, of Idaho Falls,
Idaho died May 21, 2004 at the home of her son.
She was born February 6, 1911, to Albert Harper and Ada
Sophia Pratt Harper in View, Idaho. She was one of six children to the
Harper family. She grew up and attended Pershing Elementary and burley
Junior High school.
She married Jay Clifton Nielsen on September 20, 1933,
and lived in Burley, Idaho, until 1947. They had six children. Jay died
in 1960. Grace later married Chauncy William Platts and they made their
home in Paul, Idaho. The couple spent their winters in Bouse, Arizona.
Chauncey died in 1985.
Grace was a mother and homemaker. She was also a professional
seamstress for 25 years and made hundreds of quilts. She was the PTA President
in Burley and Captain of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers and worked on the
March of Dimes Campaign.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints, where she served in the Primary for 25 years, which
included 9 years in the Primary Presidency, and in the MIA Presidency.

Daughter: Sylvia Ruth Green, Hailey, ID
Sister, Ruth Trusdale of Albuquerque, NM
17 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by twin babies, Darrell and Darlene.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May
29, 2004, at the Paul LDS Stake Center, 424 West Ellis, Paul, Idaho, with
Bishop Kelly Arritt officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday
from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Burley Pleasant View Cemetery under
the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
