Gordon Lee Jorgensen, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away on May 15, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 17, 1949, in Idaho Falls to Carlyle Jorgensen and Wanda June Furniss Jorgensen. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Bonneville High School. Gordon served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.
On May 24, 1974, he married Linda Claire Gillespie in Lewisville, Idaho, and later adopted her son, Farren Travis Christensen. Together they had a daughter, Donette. Linda preceded him in death on September 28, 2004. He married Connie Knowles on July 7, 2007, in Ririe, Idaho. Gordon worked as a welder and mechanic for U and I Sugar Factory in Lincoln, Idaho, and finished his career at Idaho Fresh Pak. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 16 years.
Gordon loved rodeoing, horsemanship, and jockeying. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and shooting. He especially loved being a Grandfather and spending time with his family.
Survivors are: Wife: Connie Knowles Jorgensen of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Farren Travis (Jan) Jorgensen of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Donette Lee (Doug) Hogan of Ririe, ID Stepdaughter: Julie (BJ) Shedd of Fort Worth, TX Sister: Linda (Wes Sims) Mann of Ririe, ID Sister: Sandy (Craig) Kuwana of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Sherann (Gordon) Glorfield of Charleston, WV Sister: Carlee (Tony) Wunderlich of Wichita, KS Sister: Lisa (David Powell) Taylor of Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Darla (Ed) Black of Boise, ID Brother: Scott Lily of Salt Lake City, UT and 8 Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; his brother, Bobby Jorgensen; and a grandson, James Chase Jorgensen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon). The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services, both at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lewisville Cemetery with military rites by the Jefferson County Veterans Team.
