Golden Charles Snell, Jr, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 15, 2013, at Life Care Center. He had been under the care of Gables of Ammon and later Teton Home Health. Golden was born November 10, 1934, in Cowley, Wyoming, to Golden Charles Snell, Sr. and Ellen Madelyn Brennan Snell. He attended Cowley High School, then graduated from the University of Wyoming, and Brigham Young University-Provo, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Spanish. On July 10, 1959, he married Ina Jane Olsen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was a member of the faculty at Byron High School in Byron, Wyoming, for seven years. He then moved to Rexburg, Idaho, where he was a professor at Rick’s College for 34 years. He and his wife, Ina, have lived in Idaho Falls for the past 13 years. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various capacities over the years, including as Branch President of a student branch at Rick’s College. He served a full-time LDS mission in his youth to Uruguay, and later served a full-time mission with Ina in Panama. After returning from Panama, he served an 18-month mission at LDS Employment Services in Idaho Falls. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting, motorcycling and reading. Golden is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ina Snell of Ammon, ID; Son: Barry (Dalea) Snell of Jonesborough, GA; Son: Greg (Colleen) Snell of Rexburg, ID; Son: Quinn Snell of Salem, UT; Son: Sam (Emily) Snell of Ririe, ID; Son: Dustin (Christine) Snell of West Concord, MN; Sister: Joy Webb of Salt Lake City, UT; Sister: Fern Kocherhans of Mesa, AZ; 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Ellen Smith and JoAnn Paulson. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at the Ammon LDS 14th Ward, 4363 East 17th Street, with Bishop Justin Judy officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Rexburg City Cemetery.
