GOLDEN H. MARLEY
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Golden Hawkins Marley, 87, of Idaho
Falls, died November 2, 2003, at the Idaho Falls Care Center.
He was born November 28, 1915 at Marsh Center, Idaho
to Ammon Owen Marley and Minnie Irma Sims Marley. He grew up in the area
and graduated from high school in Arimo. He lived in Arimo until 1941
when he joined the Army. He served in the Pacific Theater during World
War II. He returned from the war in 1944 with the Purple Heart.
On May 17, 1945, he married Erma Maxine Wilkins in Rigby.
Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on November 7, 1945.
Following their marriage they lived in Pocatello. In 1950, they moved
to Ucon where they bought a farm. In October of 2002, they moved to Idaho
Falls. He also worked as a school bus driver and for Western Farmers Potato
Processing.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, he served as a Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday
School Teacher, High Priest Quorum Instructor, and for 9 years was a temple
officiator. He enjoyed sports, collecting draft horses & horse equipment,
reading and was an avid horseman. He especially loved his family and spending
time with them.

Son: Ronald Lee Marley, Stockton, CA
Daughter: Paula (Mark) Boam, Rigby, ID
20 Grandchildren 22 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Maxine; two sisters and
four brothers.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November
6, 2003, at the Ucon LDS 1st Ward (10854 North 41 East), with Bishop Sidney
A. Hill officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from
6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and for one hour prior
to the services.
Burial will be in Ucon Cemetery under the direction of
Wood Funeral Home.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County
Veterans Team.
