Gloria Frances Henderson Taylor of Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho passed away June 9, 2016 at the age of 88, she was a healthy active caring selfless women brought down with Alzheimer's disease. She fought a long and hard battle for 17 years, being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2009. Gloria was taken care of by the loving staff of Pine Brook Assisted Living center staff and Hospice care providers in the community for the past 5 years.
Gloria was bom June 5,1928 in Walla Walla Washington, the daughter of Cora Belle Criswell Henderson Raymond and Lloyd Brooks Henderson. She was raised and attended schools in Walla Walla. Gloria and Frank met in elementary school. She married Franklin Oakly Taylor on June 22,1947 in Walla Walla. They have lived in Walla Walla, WA, Palo Alto, CA. Poway, CA. Walnut, CA. Sonoma, CA. and Idaho Falls, ID.
Gloria taught at MT. San Antonio College for several years. She was a fundamental developer of the 1st head Start Pre-School program in Los Angeles County. She was lead developer and instructor of the Cotti Co-Op Nursery school where she taught the parents and the children Family living skills. She was a master seamstress and took great joy in making cloths and blankets for herself and family. All the boys remember the bright colored MC Hammer pants. She collected fabric and has at least a fabric stores worth of material. She taught specialty sewing classes to the surrounding Sonoma community, but she seemed to enjoy trying to teach her grandchildren the best.
Gloria and Frank loved to travel and they would surprise each other every other year at Christmas time with a new itinerary for a trip. They enjoyed cruises and traveled around the world. If she had something to say to all her friends and family it would be, "I encourage all of you to live life to the fullest. Be prepared, have a pass port ready you never know when you will have a chance to travel. Take all the opportunities to do as many things for others as you can fit in. Life is short leave with having as few regrets as possible. Do what you can when you can because you can!"
Gloria is survived by her daughter, 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren: Rebecca Kay Taylor Dean Satterthwaite and Husband Brent Satterthwaite; Travis Dean and Wife Sarah and Sydney and Macy; CJ Dean and Wife Megan and Colin; Casey Dean and Wife Linda; Kristine Dean Lords and Husband Mike Lords and Austin, Skylar, Anjalee, and Miya; Jennifer Minns Lane Goss and Husband Kyle Goss, and Hope Lane Gothard Husband Anthony Gothard, Jacob Lane, Taylor Goss; Michelle Minns Short and Husband Danny Short and Ashtyn, Avery, Alyx, and Jayce; Joe Fyffe and Wife Kim and Michael, Kyle, Josephine, and Buster
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Cora Raymond, Lloyd Henderson, step father Bill Raymond, Brother Bobby Lloyd Henderson, Daughter Deborah Sue Taylor Hoik, Son Daniel Lee Taylor, Daughter in law Randeen Gould Minns Fyffe Taylor, Son in Law Michael Glenn Dean.
