IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Gloria Ann Keller, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 26, 2009, at her home in Idaho Falls.
She was born March 23, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Roy James Keller and June Etta Fredinburg Keller. She attended Eastside Elementary and O.E. Bell Jr. High, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. She attended Ricks College and obtained an Associates Degree, then went to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Except for her college years, she was a lifetime resident of Idaho Falls. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Phillips Petroleum, the Bureau of Land Management and the Department of Energy, from which she retired.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership positions. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, the outdoors and, most of all, her niece and nephews.
Her life is best defined by the acts of service she rendered to others. Gloria always placed others needs above her own. She was a wonderful example of selfless devotion and giving of herself to others. She truly had a heart of gold!
Gloria was well respected for her secretarial skills. She was often called upon by co-workers to proofread their outgoing letters. She wanted things to be done correctly and had a great knowledge of the English language. Her high school teacher once commented that
"Gloria would rather be right than be President."
Survivors include her brother, Leland K. (Janel) Keller, and sister, Dorothy K. (Oral) Behunin, both of Idaho Falls, a niece, Penny Lynn Behunin of Salt Lake City, Utah, nephews, Brandt K. (Amy) Behunin and Scott D. Keller of Idaho Falls; Kelly O. Behunin of Pleasant Grove, Utah, James C. (Karen) Keller of Twin Falls; and two grandnephews: Cody and Garrett Keller of Twin Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Royal and Annie Oliverson Keller and Charles and Nancy Chaney Fredinburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009, at the Idaho Falls LDS 9th Ward, 395 2nd Street, with Bishop Larry Haws officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Growing up next door to the Keller family for the majority of my life, I can't imagine Gloria not being there. She was always very kind to my parents and I, and I know she will be missed. May the peace and love of God be with you all. - Gregory

I can remember asking Gloria all kinds of questions prior to my arrival in Idaho Falls in 1979 from California. She was a wonderful and caring person all during our sharing of DOE office space. She was my secretary for many years, and secretary of my boss for many years. After our retirements, we would see each other a coupl of times during the year and we exchanged Xmas cards. So many good thoughts of Gloria both professionally and as a good friend. I will miss her.

We are so sorry to hear of Gloria passing. There was not a sweeter lady in the world. And a dear friend for many years.

I met Gloria about 15 years ago at the DOE-ID computer classes I was teaching. Over the years I've run into Gloria out shopping, and we've stopped to chat. I just wanted to let her family know that I enjoyed her very much. She was so kind, pleasant, and always had a smile that I can see so clearly now.

Dear Keller Family:
My mom, Helen Oliverson, told me that Gloria had passed. She was so young! Please accept my sympathy. Mom didn't know if she had been ill. When I was in elementary school, Gloria and I used to play together on Saturdays while our moms shopped. On special days we'd go to the afternoon movies. I have treasured memories of those times.
Mom was very upset that she was not feeling well enough to go to the funeral. Although she is on antibiotics now, she is still not feeling well. As she says, "When you're in your 90s,..."
Again, my sympathy to each of you.
Sincerely,
Sue Morgan
