Glenn Walter Yaple, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 30, 2022, at his home. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice and his loving family.
Glenn was born March 11, 1937, in Arcata, California, to Lawrence Orlin Yaple and Pansy Pearl Spickelmier Yaple. He grew up and attended schools in Arcata, Upper Lake and Ukiah, in northern California. After high school, Glenn joined the United States Navy earning the ranking of Ensign. He worked as a millwright for Mendocino County Forest Products most of his working years.
On November 21, 2003, he married Barbara Priscilla Blake Vander Stoep in Ukiah, California. Glenn and Barbara made their home in Potter Valley, California, until moving to Idaho in 2016.
Glen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing Mexican Train dominoes.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Barbara Vander Stoep-Yaple of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Caroline (Mike) Anderson of Ukiah, CA; sisters, Lucille Whitley of Reno, NV, and Donna Myrtle (Robert Castle) Yaple of Modesto, CA; step-son, Ken (Julie) Vander Stoep of Idaho Falls, ID; step-daughter, Lisa (Steve) Morales of Idaho Falls, ID; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Glenn was a kind and generous man who would give the shirt off his back to help ya out. He loved his family and always ended every visit or phone call expressing his love for you. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Clifford Eugen Yaple of Potter Valley, CA; and daughter, Debra Leann McGee.
Private family services will be held.
