Glenn Rodgers, Sr

Glennis Lewis "Glenn" Rodgers, Sr., 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 23, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in the arms of his loved ones. Glenn was born August 9, 1956, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Blease Fulton Gray and Mary Rodgers. He grew up and attended schools in Virginia. On December 31, 1986, he married Mary Jo Richardson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Glenn and Mary Jo made their home in Idaho Falls where Glenn worked in records management for Idaho National Lab for many years before retiring in 2001 due to his health issues. He was a member of the Watersprings Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, his friends and family, and gave of himself doing community services with the Idaho Falls Heritage Festival and many diversity committees. He was best known for his amazing hugs and smile. His loving spirit will live on in each of us who had the pleasure to know and love him. Glenn was loved because he loved. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Jo Rodgers of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kelsey (Wes) Elkins of Boise, ID; son, Lewis Rodgers of San Diego, CA; daughter, Coretta Williamson of Norfolk, VA; mother, Mary (Wardell) Driver of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Natalie (Antwoine) Womack of Richmond, VA; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and countless others who loved him. He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Richardson, father, Blease Fulton Gray and his grandparents. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27th, at Watersprings Church, 4250 South 25th East, with Pastor Gordon Boyle officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a memorial fund to offset funeral costs at East Idaho Credit Union. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
