GLENDORA PETERSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Glendora Peterson, 85, of Idaho Falls, died May 31, 2007, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Center.
She was born April 19, 1922, in Shelley, Idaho, to Job William McGary and Emily Ireta Hess McGary. She lived and attended schools in Jameston, graduating from Shelley High School in 1940, then the family moved to Idaho Falls.
She married Lester Yale Peterson May 6, 1942, in The Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. She worked for Dr. H. L. Schiess, at Triangle Lumber and managed the lunch room at Bank of Idaho. She was an enthusiastic activist for the Senior Citizens of Idaho and managed the Shelley Sr. Citizen Center for many years.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as Young Women’s Counselor, Relief Society President, and Stake Homemaking Leader. She and her husband served a mission in San Antonio, Texas and two Stake missions. She loved music, cooking, gardening, dancing and adored her many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Brother: Kenneth (Connie) McGary, Ucon, ID
Brother: Dallon (Dorothy) McGary, Idaho Falls, ID
Brother: Jerry McGary, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Collene (Clyde) West, CA
Sister: Sherolene Clayton, Idaho Falls, ID
24 Grandchildren & 34 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007, at the Parkwood Ward Chapel, 395 Second Street, with Bishop David Burger officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, and one hour before services Monday at the church.
Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
