Glenda Joelene Chance, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 19, 2020, at her home. She was under the care of her loving family and Brio Hospice.
Glenda was born July 7, 1936, in Vernon, Texas, to John Kirby Chance and Amy Deloyce Lamb Chance Stanley. She grew up and attended schools in Vernon, Texas, and Long Beach, California.
On June 29, 1952, she married Bobby Jack McAfee in Tehachapi, California. Glenda and Bobby made their home in Kerman, California, where Glenda worked as cook for the hospital and nursing homes. Glenda and Bobby were later divorced.
Glenda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed collecting Elvis memorabilia, dolls and angels. Glenda also volunteered in her daughter’s classroom for over eighteen years where she helped second graders and kindergartners as part of the Foster Grandparent Program.
Glenda is survived by all of her “favorite” children, Deborah (Joe) Toste of Nampa, ID, Wade (Lori) McAfee of Idaho Falls, ID, Pamela (Jim) Toste of Charlo, MT, Robert (Tracy) McAfee of Kerman, CA, Lois (Wayne) Elwell of North Ogden, UT; 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark McAfee; and brother, Marshall Chance.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
