Glen William Messman

Glen William Messman, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 15, 2024, at Idaho Falls Community Care Hospital. Glen was born June 2, 1947, in Hay Springs, Nebraska, to Dean William Messman and Jessie Anna Horn Messman. He grew up and attended schools in Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from Wichita South East High School. He also attended and received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Colorado State University. On August 31, 1974, he married Margaret (Margie) Cuthbert in Spokane, Washington. In 1978, they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Glen and Margie made their home in Spokane, Washington, welcoming their first two children, Chad and Andrea, before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado, and welcoming their third child, Kaycee. They settled in Mesa, Arizona, where they lived for 22 years before moving to Idaho Falls, which they have called home since 2010. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in several callings over the years. He served a three year mission serving in the Pathways program. He also served in the temple every Wednesday as an ordinance worker, which he loved. Glen is survived by his wife, Margaret Joyce Messman of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Chad William (Kim) Messman of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Andrea Leslie (Kelly) Thueson of Spanish Fork, UT; daughter, Kaycee Denise (Matthew) Rasmussen of Provo, UT; brother, Jim (Kathy) Messman of Houston, TX; brother, John (Shelbie) Messman of Witchita, KS; 11 grandchildren, Leta and Eli (Messman); Morgan, Boston, and Tatum, (Thueson); Teagan, Jagger, Greyson, Navi, Haven, and Hendrix (Rasmussen). He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Jessie Anna Messman. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the Idaho Falls Brentwood Ward Chapel, 2040 Brentwood Drive, with Bishop John Collins, officiating. The family will visit with friends and family Friday from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, and Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at the church prior to the service.
