Gladys Wilkins

GLADYS WILKINS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Gladys Barnes Crofts Wilkins, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 8, 2006, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center. She was born May 6, 1914, in Shelton, Idaho, to Thomas Hillman Barnes and Mary Ellen Cleverly Barnes. She grew up in Shelton, where she attended Buck School, then attended Idaho Falls High School and graduated from Ammon High School. She lived in Iona for three years, Ashton for three years, then moved to Idaho Falls, where she has lived the rest of her life. She married William Edward Crofts June 24, 1936, in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized September 27, 1939, in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. She was a homemaker and mother and had her own drapery business. William passed away January 13, 1955. She married Joseph A. Wilkins August 16, 1958 in Idaho Falls, and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1985. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities over the years. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Surviving are: Son: Dennis E. (Nancy) Crofts of Shelley, ID Daughter: Diane C. (Jan) Cox of Boise, ID Son: Michael L. (Teresa) Crofts of Orlando, FL Son: Mark D. (Kathleen) Wilkins of Bountiful, UT 14 Grandchildren & 20 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, William E. Crofts and Joseph A. Wilkins, and 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the Idaho Falls LDS Boulevard Ward, 351 West 14th Street, with her son, Bishop Dennis Crofts officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
