GLADYS ERICKSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Gladys Mattson Erickson, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 18, 2007, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center. Gladys was born May 12, 1915, at Hallock, Minnesota, to Fred and Anna Mattson. She married William A. “Bill” Erickson March 21, 1938, at Glasgow, Montana. During World War II they lived in Freehold, New Jersey, while he served in the U. S. Navy. They also lived in Schnectady, New York, while he was employed by the Manhattan Project. They moved to Idaho Falls in October, 1950. Gladys was a homemaker and mother. Mr. Erickson died January 14, 2004. She worked as a volunteer for approximately 4,000 hours at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Idaho Falls and later performed many hours of volunteer work at the Braille Institute in Idaho Falls. She was an avid hiker and walker and also enjoyed gardening, bowling, camping and alpine skiing. Gladys was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of Idaho Falls 1st Lutheran church. Gladys is survived by her son, William R. “Bill” Erickson and his wife, Barbara, of Poulsbo, Washington. At her request, there will be no public funeral services. A brief private burial service will be held at a later date in Fielding Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1810 Moran Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. ------------------------------------------- ONLINE CONDOLENCES: Idaho Falls Good Samaritan Center We would like to express our condolences- Gladys has left us with so many fond memories.
