Ginny Alberta Christenson, of Coltman, Idaho, passed away on June 13, 2017, at her home. She was 64 years young. Ginny was born August 23, 1952, in Baudette, Minnesota, to Albert and Mildred Hasbargen. She grew up in Border, Minnesota, on the family farm, attended school at Border School and Indus High School, and graduated from Rainy River Community College in International Falls, Minnesota, with an Associate's Degree. While attending college, she met the love of her life, Wayne Albin Christenson. On September 15, 1973, they married in Clementson, Minnesota. To this union were born four daughters, Tanya Joy (TJ), Sonya Rae, Anita Lee, and Heidi Lyn. In 1973, they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, then to Norwich, Connecticut, and then back to Coltman, Idaho, in 1977, where they have resided ever since. Ginny was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and had a strong faith and relationship with God. She was active with her daughters serving as a 4-H leader, Girl Scout troop leader, t-ball coach, Sunday school teacher, and supported her daughters in school and other activities. Ginny loved spending time with her family, especially while hunting, fishing in Alaska, camping, horseback riding, 4-wheeling, and traveling around to see the historical sites of Idaho. She enjoyed spending time reading, gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, writing, taking photos, and maintaining a beautiful home for her family. After being a homemaker and stay-at-home mom, she started a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Always the care taker, she spent 25 years working as a home health aide where she loved helping and taking care of others. She so enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and her dear friend, Gayle Anderson. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wayne of Coltman, ID; children, TJ (Mike) Ryan of Coltman, ID, Sonya Christenson of Nampa, ID, Anita Christenson (fiancé, Chris Koons) of Nampa, ID, and Heidi (James) Thueson of Idaho Falls, ID; her grandsons, Mitchel and Brandon Ryan of Rexburg, ID, Aiden Ryan Christenson of Coltman, ID, Tred Taylor and Nash Thueson of Idaho Falls. She is also survived by her mother, Mildred Hasbargen of Baudette, MN; siblings, Lynn (Gary) Wheelock of Grand Rapids, MN, Sharlene (Walter) Howe of International Falls, MN, Gary (Janet) Hasbargen of Border, MN, Barry (Teresa) Hasbargen of Clementson, MN, Albert Jr. (Rita) Hasbargen of Border, MN, April (Todd) Beckel of Baudette, MN; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Hasbargen Sr. and brother, Wade Hasbargen. A gathering for family and friends will take place Friday evening, June 16, 2017, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Idaho Falls, 455 West Sunnyside Road. There will be services in Minnesota at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please take the time to plant some flowers or a plant in your garden to enjoy and remember Ginny by.
