Gilbert "Gil" Feudner

Gilbert W. Feudner, 81, of Idaho Falls, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at his home. Gil was born January 5, 1929, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Peter and Gertelle Manthei Feudner. He spent his early years in Fond du Lac. He joined the Army in 1947 and served for 9 yrs. He was honorably discharged as a Tech. Sergeant First Class. In 1952, he married Audrey Culbertson and they had one son, Wesley. She died in 1962. In 1963, he married Donna Younger and they had one daughter, Lanay. They were later divorced. In 1968, He married Nellie Hall Culbertson and acquired 4 more children, James, Fredrick, Kim and Darla. They made their home in Idaho Falls where Gil was a Customer Engineer for IBM. He retired in 1987. Gil loved hunting, fishing and camping with his family at Red Fish Lake in northern Idaho. He had a passion for repairing old junk cars and tinkering in general. He also loved golfing. In 1990, Gil found sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous where he formed strong and lasting friendships. He dedicated his life to helping others in their journey to sobriety. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Idaho Falls. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Feudner of Idaho Falls; children, Wesley (Shannon) of Warner Robins, Ga, James of Deltona, Fl., Fredrick of Sacramento, Ca., Kimberly (Jim) Arendts of Star Valley Ranch, Wy., Darla Hackman of Boise, Idaho, and Lanay (Gary) Brennan of Meridian, Idaho, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother and sister Phyllis Zehms. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church (325 Elm Street) in Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Military rites will be performed following the services by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
