Geri Bateman

Geraldine "Geri Hess Lowe Bateman, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 23, 2016, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. She was under the care of One Source Hospice. Geraldine was born February 24, 1928, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to George Hess and Launy Olive Anderson Hess. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. In 1946, she married Howard Lowe in Shelley, Idaho. Geri and Howard had two children, Dennis and Michael. Geraldine and Howard made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Geraldine worked as a dental assistant. Howard passed away in 1990. Later, Geri met Elvey W. Bateman and they were married September 14, 1996, and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple December 15, 2000. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved spending her time sewing, gardening, knitting and crocheting. Geraldine is survived by her granddaughters, Jill and Amy, and their families, as well as Elvey’s four children and their families. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, two sons, Dennis Lowe and Richard Michael Lowe, grandson, Dustin Lowe, and stepson, Lane Bateman. A special thanks to Katie and her staff at Lincoln Court Memory Care, and Geri's caregivers from One Source Hospice. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge. The family will visit with friends 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to One Source Home Health and Hospice, 3544 East 17th Street, Suite #201, Ammon, ID 83406.
