GERALD RUSSELL
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Gerald Deloy Russell, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 14, 2006, at his home of a lingering illness. He was under the care of Hospice Alliance.
Gerald was born April 7, 1928, in Jameston, Idaho, to Edward Jackson Russell and Hazel Vinona Taysom Russell. He was raised in the Jameston and Shelley area and graduated from Ammon High School. Gerald served his country as a Yeoman 3rd Class in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He married Joyce Renee Dabel December 29, 1955, in Shelley, Idaho. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where he worked as a brick hacker, cement finisher, and cement truck driver for Monroc. Joyce passed away September 10, 1997.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gerald enjoyed basketball in his younger years, watching the Utah Jazz, bowling, fishing, hunting, dancing, singing karaoke, and walking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, a niece, a brother and a sister-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, with Bishop James Hunter of the Idaho Falls LDS 26th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
