GERALD L. ONDRICEK
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Gerald Louis “Jerry” Ondricek,
68, of Idaho Falls, died November 18, 2003, at the Idaho Falls Care Center.
He was born July 3, 1935 at the family home in Orland,
California, to Frank Joseph Ondricek and Otilla F. Vonasek Ondricek. He
attended Orland Grade School, Orland High School and graduated from Chico
State University in 1958.
He married Afton Della Hancock February 10, 1956, in
Orland, California. He taught school at Anderson High School, in Anderson,
California. They moved to Idaho Falls where he worked as an engineer for
Phillips, then EG&G Services in Idaho Falls. While working, he also
built his own Tax Consultant business from his home, which continued until
his recent illness.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. He served as a Cub Scout Leader and as a Sunday School teacher.
He was Secretary of the Idaho Falls Chapter of the National
Rifle Association, and President of the Idaho Falls Chapter of the Diabetes
Association. He spent countless hours raising awareness of Diabetes through
walks and biking campaigns.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and all people,
carpentry, woodworking, fishing and outdoor activities and coin and stamp
collecting. He and his contributions will be missed by many.

Brother: George James (Jean) Ondricek, McCloud, CA
Brother: Frank Joseph (Lorraine) Ondricek, Klamath Falls, OR
11 Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Joseph Ondricek, and a brother,
Charles Roy Ondricek.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November
22, 2003, at the Idaho Falls LDS Park Taylor Ward, 5255 South 5th West,
with Bishop Rodney Hillam officiating.
The family will visit with friends Friday, from 7-8:30
p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and for one hour prior to
the service at the church Saturday. The family suggests contributions
be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1111 S. Orchard Street,
Suite #234, Boise, Idaho 83705.
Burial will be in Iona Cemetery under the direction of
Wood Funeral Home.
