JETTA HALE IDAHO FALLS, ID - Georgette “Jetta” Alice Jollineau Hale, 87, passed away December 18, 2003, at the home of her daughter, Marilyn. Jetta was born September 12, 1916, in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, to George Walter Jollineau and Gertrude Steine Jollineau. She was the fourth of seven daughters. Her sisters are Marguerite, Gertie, Christine, Sadie, Lucille and Mary Ann. Their father was a railroad agent and they lived throughout Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada. Jetta graduated from high school in Kemmerer, Wyoming, and then attended Links Business College in Pocatello. Jetta married Karl G. Hale on June 27, 1937, in Idaho Falls and their marriage was solemnized June 27, 1946, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Pocatello until 1939, when they moved to Idaho Falls where Karl was employed by The Post-Register. Karl passed away in 1980. Karl and Jetta had six children: Karl David Hale of Charleston, South Carolina; Marilyn Kay Blair of Idaho Falls; Karen Jean Murray of Highland, Utah; Keith Edgar Hale of Springville, Utah; Richard Kent Hale of Idaho Falls; and Kregg Steven Hale of Provo, Utah. Jetta was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her church service centered around family history. She was a member of several genealogical societies, was an instructor of basic and Canadian research, was a reference librarian, and did research for many friends. She was often featured as a special speaker at genealogical seminars including the one held in 1974, at the second Annual Genealogical Seminar in Salt Lake City. She and Karl served as visitors' center guides at the Idaho Falls Temple. She served in many ward and stake capacities, including director of Singing others. She served a full-time mission to Anaheim, California in 1982 and a genealogy mission at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City in 1987. In 1943, she took nurses aide training at the Idaho Falls Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and had beautiful flower gardens. She also enjoyed ceramics, sewing, square dancing, swimming, crocheting, collecting and writing poetry. She was a Girl Scout leader, served in the Navy wives organization, was president and treasurer of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, president of the PTA, worked for the Community Chest and was a member of the Sons of Norway. She is survived by her children and their spouses: David Hale, Marilyn and Boyd Blair, Karen and Dale Murray, Keith and Darlene Hale, Richard and Cheri Hale, and Kregg and Kennan Hale; 32 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Lucille Culbertson, of Pocatello and Mary Ann Marler of Elko, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband Karl, her parents, four sisters, a granddaughter, a grandson, and a great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2003 at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) with President J. C. Hart, of the Ammon West Stake, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday evening and for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park.
