GEORGE WINTERS
IDAHO FALLS, ID --
George Alfred Winters, 75, of Idaho Falls, died April 25, 2009, at his home of natural causes.
He was born February 22, 1934 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Sterling Alfred Winters and Louise Rawson Winters. He grew up in the St. Anthony area and graduated from South Fremont High School.
He served his country in the United States National Guard. On June 5, 1953 he married Bonnie J. Killian. Together they had 4 children. They later divorced. On August 7, 1969 he married Margaret "Peggy" L. Smith in Idaho Falls. Together they raised their seven children.
George was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked at Safeway Grocery, Old Faithful Beverage Company, Monroc Concrete, and he owned and operated C & R Bar. He enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing, camping, and especially spending time with his family.

Daughter: Cheryl (Brett) O'Connell, Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Shauna Thacker, Eden, UT
Son: Carl (Donna) Smith, Eden, UT
Stepmother: Vida Winters, Ogden, UT
Brother: Kent Lowrey, Valrica, FL
Sister: Carma Hayes, Portland, OR
Sister: Sherry Maw, Ogden, UT
12 Grandchildren & 2 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Ewing, stepbrother, Cliff Allen, and grandson, Jason Heileson.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the Wood Funeral Home East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends form 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to EIRMC Pulmonary Rehab (Easy Breathers), P.O. Box 2077, Idaho Falls, ID 83403-2077.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park the under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
