GEORGE L. SCHMITH
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- George LeRoy Schmith, 85, of Idaho Falls,
died April 2, 2005, at his home.
He was born July 21, 1919, at Chapin, Idaho, to George W.
Schmith and Margaret Wanlass Schmith. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho
and Nevada. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Pacific
Theater, Guadalcanal, and New Georgia.
In May of 1973, he married Alice Lucille Moss in Caldwell,
Idaho. She preceded him in death on July 28, 2001. He lived in Ely, Nevada;
Goldendale, Washington; and for 30 years in Idaho Falls. He worked as a Carpenter
Superintendent and Mill Wright. He was a member of the American Legion, AARP,
and Triad.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. He enjoyed woodworking in his personal shop, fishing, hunting, camping,
gardening and playing cards.

Son: John Paul McClanathan, Boise, ID
16 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille and sister, Helen Earl.
