George Joe Lee, Sr., 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 8, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
George was born November 29, 1941, in Ft. Defiance, Arizona, to Joe Lee and Elizabeth Peslakai Lee. He attended middle school in Hamer, Idaho.
He married Sandra Talkington and they had a daughter, Barbara. They later divorced and he married Isabella Charley and they had four children; George, Ronald, Deborah, and Sheila. They were later divorced. On April 23, 1993, he married his best friend, Carole Ann Largo, and to this union were born three sons: Billy, Brian, and Michael.
George worked for Ball Brothers Produce as a warehouse foreman and drove truck for Rigby Produce and Ellsworth Farms.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints . He enjoyed collecting coins and old cast iron cars. He liked to take scenic drives all around Idaho, play pool, and watch drag racing. George loved doing everything with his wife, Carole, and they loved and enjoyed each other’s company. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
George is survived by his loving and caring wife of 40 years, Carole Lee of Idaho Falls, ID; son, George J. Lee, Jr. of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Ronald J. Lee of Lewisville, ID; daughter, Deborah A. Lee of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Sheila A. Lee of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Billy Joe Lee of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brian J. Lee of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Michael J. Lee of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, David (Cecelia) Lee of Farmington, NM; brother, Anslem (Mary Jean) Lee of Lander, WY; brother, Frankie (Betty) Lee of Gallup, NM. 16 grandchildren: Jesseca, Leo, William, Ariana, Aiyana, Brittnee, Sierra, Isaac, Shaylee, Rigoberto, Nicolas, Ivan, Shannon, George, Alyssa, and Elena. and 1 great grandchildren: Xavier Isaiah Joe
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alice Lee; two brothers, Tony Lee and Robert Lee; and daughter, Barbara Lee.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Idaho Falls LDS Coltman Ward Building (12448 North 5th East). The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at a later in New Mexico.
