GEORGE JOHNSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- George Kent Johnson, 65, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 20, 2005, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following a heart attack. He was born February 27, 1940, in Ririe, Idaho, to Rulon Kent Johnson and Nora LaVerne Moore Johnson. He attended Ririe Elementary, O. E. Bell Junior High, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also graduated from Brigham Young University with an Associates Degree in electronics. He married Gloria Ann Carter February 3, 1968, in San Diego, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He served in the U. S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in the Vietnam War and the Cuban Crisis. He retired from the Navy after 22 years. After his retirement they moved from San Diego to Idaho Falls and he worked for Snake River Well, Intermountain Telecommunications, and drove bus for CART. Gloria passed away October 31, 2003. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, traveling, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Surviving are: Son: Rulon Kent (Angela Marie Steele) Johnson of Ammon, ID Daughter: Tina Marie (Ray) Kulani of Idaho Falls, ID 5 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2005, at the Idaho Falls LDS 32nd Ward, 2349 Virlow Drive, with Bishop David Andersen officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services, at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
