George S. Hoke, Jr. 62, passed away December 12, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
George was born October 4, 1948, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, to George S. Hoke Sr. and Bonnie Peterson Hoke. He graduated from Westminster High School in Maryland. He served in the U. S. Army.
He married Nancy Dee Kirk March 2, 2001, in Black Hawk, Colorado. While they lived in Colorado, George was a firefighter and the Gilpin County Fire Marshall. He and Nancy lived in Colorado for 12 years. George was a quality systems engineer and has lived in the Idaho Falls area for 5 years.
George enjoyed target shooting and wood working.
He is survived by
his wife, Nancy of Idaho Falls;
Son, Adam L. Hoke of Manchester, Maryland;
Granddaughters, Sarah Hoke, (6) and Katherine Hoke (4);
Sister, Marcia Alpin of West Virginia;
Sister, Linda Hartsock, of Maryland;
Sister, Connie Doss of West Virginia;
Sister, Gail Horman of Maryland;
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Idaho Falls Community Food Bank, 245 N. Placer, Idaho Falls, ID 83402.
