George Leroy Gruver, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 25, 2013 at his home. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
George was born January 31, 1930 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, to Harry Gruver and Ethel May Forney. He grew up and attended school in Pennsylvania.
On September 13, 1952, he married Estella Gonzalez in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Together they raised their eight children. George and Estella spent the last 57 years in Idaho Falls.
He served in the Air Force from 1951-1959 and received his honorable discharge
George worked in the concrete business for Burns Brothers and was a member of Teamsters Union. He also worked as a mechanic for Taylor Farms.
He was a member of the Catholic church and also a member of the Eagles. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, family activities, motorcycles and model airplanes. He was an excellent craftsman and enjoyed woodworking.

Son: Gary L. (Barbara) Gruver of Ririe, ID;
Daughter: E. Laura (Mike) Garcia of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son: Gene L. Gruver of Phoenix, AZ
Son: Glen L. (Ronda) Gruver of Ammon, ID;
Sister: Martha Gladden of California;
31 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (corner of 9th and Lee). The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.) Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
