George Josef Danklefsen, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away on November 9, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born May 31, 1928, in Friedrichstadt, Germany to Georg Peter Inqwer Danklefsen and Catharine Auguste Christian Danklefsen. He grew up and attended schools in Germany. While in Germany, he had resided in Friedrichstadt, Koldenbuettel, and Ehrenstetten.
On December 27, 1949, he married Charlotte Räder in Ehrenstetten, Germany. Their marriage was solemnized in the Swiss LDS Temple on July 18, 1966. He worked as a railroadman and machinist. George and Charlotte later moved to Chicago, Illinois, and then to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he worked as a painter at the Idaho National Laboratory.
George was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in various callings including Finance Clerk, High Priest Group Leader, First Counselor in a Bishopric, and Ward Missionary. He enjoyed small-scale railroading, woodworking, making cuckoo clocks, and doing genealogy.

Sister: Herta C. (Otto) Beyer of Germany,
Sister: Elfriede G. (Paul) Neumann of Sycamore, IL,
Sister: Gertrude H. (Helmuth) Krienke of Germany,
26 Grandchildren and 40 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters, and two grandsons.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Ammon LDS 17th Ward, 2200 Stafford Drive, with Bishop Allen Landon officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and on Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
