GEORGE BLACKER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- George Blacker, 85, of Idaho Falls,
died November 27, 2004, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from
injuries due to a fall.
He was born March 8, 1919, in Afton, Wyoming, to Thomas
Blacker and Hettie Mae Wilkes Blacker. He grew up on a farm in Rupert,
Idaho, and graduated from Rupert High School.
He married Louise June Hammer July 12, 1945, in the Logan,
Utah, LDS Temple. They made their home in Osgood, where they owned and
operated the Osgood Store for 35 years before moving to Idaho Falls to
retire. George also worked at the Riverview Hospital for 12 years.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, he served in various capacities, including the Family History
Committee. He loved gardening and was known for his beautiful flower beds.
He also enjoyed carpentry projects and listening to beautiful music.

Son: Ron (Marilyn) Blacker, Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Wanda Blacker, Orem, UT
Daughter: Corrine (Cory) Lindorff, Orem, UT
Sister: Merintha Garner, Rupert, ID
Sister: Marie Green, Burley, ID
9 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, and one sister.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December
4, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS Taylor Crossing Ward, 2040 Brentwood Drive,
with Bishop Kent Browning officiating.
The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30
p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Saturday for one hour prior
to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
