LUCILLE SCHMITH
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lucille Schmith, 69, of Idaho Falls, died
July 28, 2001, at her home of cancer. She was under the care of Hospice of
Eastern Idaho.
She was born May 24, 1932, at Wapato, Washington, to Elmer
Moss and Estell Poisel Moss. She grew up in Washington and attended Wapato
Grade School and Selah High School. She also lived in Goldendale and Yakima,
Washington, before moving to Idaho Falls 25 years ago.
In 1950 she married Carson Richard Mundis and he was killed
in a construction accident in 1957. She married Johnny McClanathan in 1960
and they were later divorced. She married George L. Schmith on May 12, 1972,
at Goldendale, Washington. She worked throughout her life as a cashier. She
worked for the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory in
the Willow Creek building, the EROB building, and also at various other locations
until her retirement.
She enjoyed crafts, fishing, and gardening.
GEORGE LEROY SCHMITH
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- George LeRoy Schmith, 85, of Idaho Falls,
died April 2, 2005, at his home.
He was born July 21, 1919, in Chapin, Idaho, to George W.
Schmith and Margaret Wanlass Schmith. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho
and Nevada. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Pacific
theater, Guadalcanal and New Georgia.
In May, 1973, he married Alice Lucille Moss McClanathan in
Caldwell, Idaho. She died July 28, 2001. He lived in Ely, Nevada, Goldendale,
Washington, and for 30 years in Idaho Falls. He worked as a carpenter superintendent
and millwright. He enjoyed woodworking in his personal shop, fishing, hunting,
camping, gardening and playing cards.

George and Lucille lived happily for 32 years together. They both enjoyed
fishing, George loved making wood products and Lucille would paint them. They
were members of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and TRIAD
service organizations. For the past five years they devoted many hours to
service in the community. They enjoyed their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are their children, Bruce (Sandy) Schmith of Lake
Forest, Washington, Larry Schmith of American Falls, Terry (Jenny) Schmith
of Las Vegas, New Mexico, Shaunna Schmith of Burlingame, California, Philip
Schmith of Henderson, Nevada, Michael Schmith of San Francisco, California,
Rick Mundis and LaCinda “Cindy” (Ernie) Miller of Idaho Falls,
and John Paul McClanathan of Boise, 16 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Combined Graveside Services will be held Saturday, May 7,
2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral
Home. Military Rites for George will be performed by the Bonneville County
Veterans Memorial Team.
