GENEVA McKAY
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Geneva McKay, 85, of Mesa, Arizona, died November 18, 2002, at Hospice Neeley House in Gilbert, Arizona.
She was born June 2, 1917, in Idaho Falls, one of twin daughters born to Oliver Jacobson and Lydia Jane Daniels Jacobson. She grew up in the Palisades area and attended schools there.
She married Archie Robert McKay October 2, 1934, and they ranched with his father in Irwin and later bought the Hoenhen ranch in Grand Valley. They then bought the Miller Ranch in Swan Valley after being flooded out by the Palisade Dam. They continued ranching until they retired in 1982.
She and Archie spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona and their summers in Idaho Falls.
Survivors include a son, Wayne (Lois) McKay of Grass Valley, California, two daughters, Ardyth Sizemore of Phoenix, Arizona and Annis (Dick) Allen of Jackson, Wyoming, three brothers, Merle, Clon and Leal Jacobson, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie, her twin sister, Genieveve Jacobson Clark, two brothers, Ceciel and Rulan Jacobson, and two great grandchildren, Cherise McKay and Daniel Wayne McKay.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2002, at Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services on Friday at Wood Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to the Swan Valley Senior Center.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
