GEM WINDER Click here to view Gem's Video Tribute IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Gem Denning Winder, 86, of Idaho Falls, died January 6, 2009, at Life Care Center. She was born March 27, 1922 in Iona, Idaho, to George Williams Denning and Zoie Telford Denning. She graduated from Iona High School. She worked with her father in Dennings Grocery, and later at Butterys Grocery. She marred Varcel Edwon Winder on October 30, 1942 in Rigby, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they owned and operated The Billiard Shop. Varcel preceded her in death on February 7, 1997. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed art, ceramics, and making dolls, cooking, sewing, bowling, camping, and playing cards and Bingo with family and the ladies at Life Care Center. Survivors include: Son: James Varcel (Virginia) Winder, Beasley Point, NJ Daughter: Sally Ann Rose (John) Brown, Idaho Falls, ID Son: David Edwin (Jona) Winder, American Falls, ID Son: Steven Gene (Marcene) Winder, Island Park, ID Son: William Wiley (Leanna) Winder, Iona, ID Brother: John Telford (Lorraine) Denning, Blackfoot, ID Brother: William Telford Denning, Iona, ID Brother: Richard Telford (LeAnn) Denning, South Jordan, UT Sister: ZoAnn (Dwayne) Simmons, Iona, ID Sister: Mary Ette (Spencer) Lott, Idaho Falls, ID 14 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Lamae Denning; and a brother, George Telford Denning. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the Iona LDS Stake Center, corner of Ririe Hwy and 55th East, with Bishop Byard Cox of the Iona 2nd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
