Gaylen Hill, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 8, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Gaylen was born December 11, 1945, in Driggs, Idaho, to Basil Hill and Waunetta Kay Hill. He grew up and attended schools in Driggs and graduated from Teton High School. He then served in the National Guard from 1969-1972.

In 1965, he married Nora Jean Beard in Driggs. Together they had five children: Amy Michelle, Bret, Brad, Jared, and Kipp. They later divorced. On July 21, 1996, he married Linda Slavin in Monticello, Utah. Gaylen and Linda made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Gaylen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially riding his horse in the mountains. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Gaylen is survived by his loving wife; daughter, Amy Michelle Hill (Kenneth C.) Cain of Tetonia, ID; sons, Bret Basil Hill of Tetonia, ID, Brad Gaylen (Susan Jill) Hill of Tetonia, ID, Jared D (Angela D.) Hill of Tetonia, ID, and Kipp Aaron (Terri Ann) Hill of Tetonia, ID; step-son, Ray Slavin of Las Vegas, NV; step-daughter, Teri Perryman of Idaho Falls, ID; sisters, Jerinne (Wayne) Beard of Tetonia, ID, Marva (Brent) Poole of Menan, ID, and JaNae (Jim) Martin of Sugar City, ID; brothers, DeVel Hill of Driggs, ID, Shayne (Claire Ann) Hill of Driggs, ID, and Lance Hill of Tetonia, ID, 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice Hill Beard Woner; step-mother, LaVon Pratt Hill; brothers-in-law, Richard Dale Beard, Frank Woner, and Mickey Beard; and parents-in-law, David L. Beard and Amy Beard Mathis.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Tetonia Park in Tetonia, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service and afterwards until 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

Military rites will be performed by the Teton County Memorial Team.
