Gary Thompson

Gary Lee Thompson, 64, of Rigby, passed away April 23, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 30, 1952, in Thornton, Idaho, to William Irvin Thompson and Bessie Grace Schwendiman Thompson. He grew up and attended schools in Thornton and graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg.

He married Jackie Lynn Whitehead in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced. Gary worked in construction and masonry.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and harvesting mushrooms.

Gary is survived by son, David (Kim) Bissonnette of Twin Falls, ID; son, Jacson (Andra) Wall of Ammon, ID; son, Donn (Amy) Wall of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Andrea Wall of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Stormy Thompson of Ammon, ID; daughter, Jennifer (Matthew) Watters of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jaimie (Nicholas) Welch of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Wayne (Linda) Thompson of Thornton, Idaho; brother, Lyle Thompson of AZ; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins, in and around Rexburg, and Rigby area.

He was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Kostial, sister, Karen Thompson, father, William Irvin Thompson, mother, Bessie Grace Thompson.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Teton-Newdale Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
