G. DEAN STRUHS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Gary Dean Struhs, 39, of Idaho Falls, died August 13, 2006, at his home. He was deeply loved by his family, friends and neighbors, and will be greatly missed by all. He was born December 18, 1966, at Ontario, Oregon, to Garry Marshall Struhs and Bonnie Estella Gould Struhs. The family moved to Utah, and then to Rexburg, Idaho, where he graduated from Madison High School in 1985. During high school he was actively involved in sports and received honors for 1st team All State Football. In November of 1984, he married Rani Bingham of Rexburg. They had three children and were later divorced. On November 25, 1994, he married Shalay Nielsen in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple November 25, 2000. They had three more children together. He was employed by Parts Service in Rexburg and later worked for Les Schwab, where he was assistant manager for eight years. He then helped start Purple Sage Trucking, a family owned and operated business. He also owned and operated Intermountain Brokerage with his wife and was involved in both businesses at the time of his death. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in the Elders Quorum Presidency. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, camping, boating, and snowmobiling. He loved being with his family and enjoyed the good times spent with his “Best Buddy” Tate. Survivors are: Wife: Shalay Struhs, Idaho Falls Daughter: Rachel (David) Spackman, Idaho Falls Daughter: Lyndsi Struhs, Idaho Falls Son: Jason Struhs, Idaho Falls Son: Mitch Struhs, Idaho Falls Daughter: Lexie Struhs, Idaho Falls Son: Coleson Struhs, Idaho Falls Parents: Garry and Bonnie Struhs, Iona Brother: Jeffrey A. (Anna) Struhs, Rigby Sister: Shannon (Jed) Bush, Idaho Falls Grandmother: Hazel Struhs, Rexburg He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Alta Gould and a grandfather, Arnold Struhs. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2006, at the Iona LDS 6th Ward (Cloverdale Church - 915 N. Crimson) with Bishop Wade Gordon officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and for one hour prior to the services at the church.
