Gary Blaine Sheets

Gary Blaine Sheets, 63, of Rigby, passed away October 1, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.  He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Gary was born March 19, 1958, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Henry Settle Sheets and Bertha Brown Sheets.  He grew up and attended schools in Idaho and North Carolina. He graduated from Pocatello High School.  He also attended Duke University. On May 15, 1985, he married Misty Darlene Wood in North Carolina. Gary and Misty made their home in Pocatello, Idaho, where Gary operated the Paint Department for Idaho State University. He retired to Rigby, Idaho, with his wife to enjoy time with his grandson Austin. He enjoyed using his hands whether fishing, hunting, painting or doing his leather crafts. Gary loved deeply with his heart and soul, once you became a friend you became family to him. He loved spending time with his family passing on all his knowledge and telling all his stories and in the great outdoors, even if it was a drive through the mountains. You would often find him playing with his lab, Dakota, or with his grandson Austin. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Misty Sheets of Rigby, ID; mother, Bertha Sheets of ID; son, James (Cassie) Sheets of NC; daughters, Amanda Sheets of NC, and Kayla Miller (Christopher) of ID; brothers, Henry Sheets and Nomin (Hyunjung Han) Park, both of ID; grandchildren, Ethan, Draven, Elijah, Gavin, Seth, Chloe, and Austin. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Settle Sheets. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
