Butch Rudolph

Gary Thomas “Butch” Rudolph, 75, went home to be with our Lord on October 11, 2025, peacefully in his sleep, surrounded with love.

Butch graduated from North Central in Spokane WA in 1969. He joined the Navy that summer. He shipped out to sea and saw the world courtesy of our Red, White, and Blue, and he was very proud of his service. A son, Christopher Morris, was born in 1970. In 1974, Butch left the service and came back west.

His son, Zane Thomas, was born into the family with two older brothers, Danny, and Darin, in 1974. A very proud "Daddy Butch" he was. Not too long after that, Butch decided Montana was the place he wanted to call home. He found his calling there and a Cowboy he became.

Butch was blessed with a beautiful baby girl on Christmas Day in 1984, Serina Kathleen. He said she was the best Christmas present ever. On October 31, 1991, he claimed Shane Miles, and Elizabeth Ruby “Beth”, as his own. They remain so to this day.

In 2017, Butch began to have severe health problems, and he moved to Idaho to live with his daughter, Beth. He began focusing on his health and going to specialists in Idaho and regained a lot of lost ground.

His forever love, Connie Lamprecht, entered his life in 2020. They had fur babies, Leah and Finnegan, and he loved cooking for them. He would cook meat for the fur babies, as Connie is a vegetarian. Butch and Connie shared many interests together, music being one of them. Connie played the piano, and Butch played the guitar and sang. Singing karaoke at the Eagles was a favorite hobby. He also loved going to the shooting range, reading, dancing, fishing, playing pool, pinochle, cribbage and was very skilled at woodworking. He loved helping with Connie at Champ's Heart, an equine therapy for children, veterans, and families. Butch was also the Conductor and later became the Chaplain at the Eagles, until his health became an issue.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Sereta Rudolph, and brother-in-law, Ronnie Smith.

He is survived by his love, Connie Lamprecht of Idaho Falls; son, Zane ( Heather) Rudolph of North Carolina, daughter, Serina Kathleen of Sacramento, California, son, Shane (Mandy) Caraway of Albert City Iowa, daughter, Beth (Matthew) Smith of Teton Idaho; sister, Liz Smith of Miles City, Montana; and grandchildren, Aiden, 19, Noah,17, Leslea, 15, Sebastian, 14, Kellan, 12, Gracie, 12, Allie, 10, Tavor - Dessmin, 25, and Jett, 20.
