Gary O Horton

Gary O Horton, 88, of Blackfoot, passed away August 13, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Gary was born May 15, 1936, in Salem, Oregon, to Marion Horton and Fillee  Hankins Horton. He grew up and attended schools in Oregon, and graduated from Corvallis High School. He also attended the University of Oregon, where he earned his Ph.D. Gary served in the United States Army.

On November 27, 1999, he married Arlene J May in Blackfoot, Idaho. Gary and Arlene made their home in Blackfoot, Idaho, where Gary worked as a psychologist in the mental health industry. He was also a professor at ISU and served as chairman of the Sex Offender Management Board.

He was a member of the Episcopalian Church. He enjoyed spending his free time in the outdoors hunting and fishing.

Gary is survived by his wife, Arlene J May of Blackfoot, ID; son, Raphael Lewis Horton of Denver, CO; daughter, Dr. Rene' Noel Horton of Denver, CO; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
